Hook’d Model

Hook'd Model

The proverb goes, “If you give a person a fish, you feed them for a day. If you teach a person to fish, you feed them for a lifetime”.

With this notion, we present this FREE gift resource to help you frame a conversation, a session, structure your facilitated meetings to achieve desired outcomes. We present you the Hook’d Model.

Unlike most acronyms models or frameworks, this is NOT acronym’d. It’s named after what it looks like, a hook because of the notion of the flow.

On the tip of the fishing rod is the bait. Use this as the trigger of the conversation.

Going straight into Why is usually harder but we always know What we may want or need even though it may not necessarily be the thing that end up being truly what is needed or wanted but we are good at starting here as humans.

Start here and very quickly move into Why it’s important. Spend time here because this is where we truly discover the Why of what it is we are seeking. Circle here for as long as you need to. Don’t rush it.

Once you know What you want/need and Why it’s important, progress to understand Who benefits from this need/want. The intent here is to really amplify the Why and to be absolutely clear who the beneficiaries are.

With clarity of who is benefiting from the need/want, speak about When you’ll like to accomplish/achieve the need. Pretty straight forward this. Be realistic and measured but equally be ecological about how you will achieve this and how you’ll be kind to yourself.

Now this is the bit that I usually find people jump in too early in conversations. It’s often asked at the beginning of a conversation of this kind “what outcomes are you looking for?” I find this is too early at this stage and shuts down creativity and exploration. Without knowing what we want/need and why it’s important to us, how do then know what good outcomes look like?

In this last step, explore the What Outcomes you’ll like to see if the need/want is accomplished. How would you know you have these outcomes? What would you see? What would you feel? What would you hear? What would you sense? What would you smell? Be bold here. Spend as much time here as you need.

With this insight, you can go onto the How which should much easier and straightforward but if this is a challenge, we at OAK Agility are experts at helping you bring your aspirations, hopes, wishes, dreams into fruition so reach out at hello@oakagility.coach and we’ll have a free consultation conversation with you to understand what can do with you through partnership.
